INVESTIGATIVE SPECIALIST

GS-12:
You qualify at the GS-12 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal government, with the skills needed to perform successfully the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the following duties:
Conducting internal affairs or criminal investigation cases such as bribery, conflict of interest, white-collar and contract fraud, false statements, kickbacks and other Federal criminal violations; Identifying and collecting evidence, preparing for and conducting witness and subject interviews; Following up on several separate investigative matters stemming from original assignments. GS-13:
In addition to the requirement for your lower grade level, you qualify at the GS-13 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal government, with the skills needed to perform successfully the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the following duties:
Conducting internal affairs or criminal investigations and related security investigations cases that involve substantial difficulty; Developing investigative plans and strategies or prepares investigative reports; Working with multi-jurisdictions to pursue complex investigative matters to their completion. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
