The Green Mountain Habitat for Humanity (GMHFH) ReStore in Williston is seeking a Development Director to support its mission of helping local families build strength, stability, and self-reliance through affordable homeownership.
Overview:
Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is the largest nonprofit homebuilder in the world.
Green Mountain Habitat for Humanity (GMHFH), an affiliate of HFHI, has been servicing northwestern Vermont for almost 40 years.
By providing affordable housing opportunities, the organization has transformed the lives of hard-working families, helped stabilize communities, and fostered economic vitality in the area.
We're looking for a Development Director who will be in a vital position on the leadership team and who has grant writing experience.
We need someone that has nonprofit fundraising experience and can connect us to resources.
The Development Director will be instrumental in leading us into the next phase of extraordinary growth.
The ideal candidate will be capable of managing a team for all communications and development activities related to the organization.
Development:
Write grants, and create a strategic fundraising plan, including major gifts, planned giving, multi-year pledges, corporate donations, events, and in-kind resources.
Direct and support the fundraising efforts of the Board, volunteers, and staff.
Identify and write foundation grant applications, pursue corporate sponsorships, and other funding sources that support Green Mountain Habitat's mission.
Oversee the Development Coordinator, the marketing manager, and Volunteer Manager and work closely with other affiliate staff.
Develop and provide leadership to annual giving programs, direct mail, matching gifts, monthly giving, and online giving.
Lead efforts and assist the CEO in private and corporate foundation giving through research, relationship building, identifying, cultivating, and securing new donors.
Attend and participate in some scheduled Board meetings, Board and staff retreats, and both regional and national HFHI conferences.
Communications:
Maximize public awareness of the mission and the work of GMHFH.
Help create strategic communications and marketing plans with consistent and proactive messaging through social media, print, web, and email channels.
Direct and oversee Marketing Manager who coordinates and develops press releases, website and social media content, reports, newsletters, legislative presentations, and informational campaigns.
Help develop and maintain positive media relationships.
Compensation and
Benefits:
The compensation for this full-time, in-person position is $70,000-$,80,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
GMHFH provides a QSEHRA account for full-time employees (currently at $5,500 per year) that may be used to reimburse health insurance premiums and other medical expenses.
Other benefits include paid time off and paid holidays, a 5% retirement match after one year of service, and a 20% ReStore staff discount.
Requirements:
A heart for GMHFH's mission, a strong commitment to the issue of affordable housing, and determination to secure the necessary resources to fund the cause.
Bachelor's degree 3-5 years progressive work experience in philanthropy and communications.
Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
Computer proficiency, donor database/CRM knowledge required.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to analyze details and data efficiently and effectively.
Strong leadership qualities, the ability to both delegate and execute.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
